 Conference Time and Venue

The 15th SCA Conference will be held between 15 to 16 May 2015 at the following venue :

15 May 2015           -  Management Board Meeting I, Hotel Angkor Paradise

16 May 2015           -  SCA Joint Project Workshops, Hotel Angkor Paradise

15-16 May 2015      -  International Symposium, Hotel Angkor Paradise

16 May 2015           -  Management Board Meeting II, Hotel Angkor Paradise

 The participants of the Management Board Meetings are SCA Members and observers only.

 Official Language

The official language of the conference is English

 Accommodation

Most of the participants will stay at Angkor Paradise Hotel. Please make reservations by yourselves.

-room rate 50$/night(Single room) – 55$/night(double room)

-If you tell your flight information to the hotel upon reservation,

pick up and drop off between the nearest Siem Reap airport and the hotel

will be provided by the hotel.

-Access from the nearest airport by taxi: 5$ to 7$

 Other Hotel

If you prefer to stay at other hotel we recommend you to stay at Angkor Hotel (USD32.00) or Jasmine Lodge(USD 22.00). You could also book room by yourselves.

 Local Travel

We will not responsible for the local transportation. 

 Passport and Visa

A passport must be valid for 6 months from the date of departure from Cambodia. The exemption of visa requirements may be available for some countries for entering Cambodia. Our secretary will prepare the documents for your visa applications according to your request and/ the information indicated in the registration form and send these to you accordingly. We also recommend you to contact the nearest Embassy/Consulate or Representative of Cambodia in your country.  For participants who need calling visa, please kindly send your copy of passport to facilitate the visa from our Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Usually it takes more than 2 (two) weeks before arrival.

 Meal Arrangement

The organizing committee will provide Welcome Dinner for all the member delegates on 15 May 2015 at Angkor Paradise Hotel. On 16 May, Science Council of Japan will host farewell dinner and it is attended by invitees only. Lunch and coffee breaks during the conference will be also provided.

 Climate of Siem Reap in May

Average temperatures in May will be 27 to 39 degree s celsius. It will be some experiences light rain during this period.

 Electricity

The electric power supplied in Cambodia is 220V. The plug is typically USA standard.

 Note that there are very few public outlets that support 3-prong plugs, so its useful to carry a 3-to-2 adapter. Make sure the plug blades are the same width, i.e., non-polarized.

 Money

- The Riel is the unit of currency in Cambodia. There are ten kinds of bills (100,000 riels, 50,000 riels, 10,000 riels, 5,000 riels, 2,000 riels, 1,000 riels, 500 riels, 200 riels, 100 riels and 50 riels) used.

-US dollar is accepted

 ATM's

 At over 200 convenience stores nationwide, including the Siemreap Airport, ATM machines accept foreign bank cards on a 24 hour basis. The procedure is straightforward. Guidance is avaiable in English and Khmer.

Insurance

Participants are advised to arrange for proper personal insurances to cover unforeseen expenses including medical expenses for the entire duration of your stay in Cambodia.

 Excursion

The excursion to Angkor Temple will be arranged by organizing committee on 17 May 2015, the last day of the conference. Participants who registered in advance only.  Please come to the lobby hotel Angkor Paradise at 7:00 AM. The organizing committee will provide the transportation to the venue. 

Brief Schedule

-07h: 20 Morning start from hotel Siem Reap, welcome by our local tour guide and accompany to check in hotel (early check in subject to room available). 

Start  to  visit  South  Gate  Angkor  Thom  Temple  -  was  the  masterpiece  of  King Jayavarman VII, then visit Bayon Temple, enchanting and fantastic of Bayon temple, Terrace of Elephant was used as a viewing gallery at royal events, then visit Ta Phrom temple one of the most beautiful temples in the area and a filming site of Lara Croft's adventures in "The Tomb Raider before go to Sras Srong.

-12h: 00 Lunch will be served at small local restaurant at Sras Srong (Please pay for your lunch).

-13h:30 Afternoon, visit Benteay Kdei temple and continue to visit Angkor Wat - was built by King Suryavarman II (1113 - 1150) and is the largest monument of the Angkor complex and the best preserved.-17h: 30 Back to hotel.
