Research Dissemination in the International Conference of Electrical, Computer and Energy Technologies (ICECET-2022), Prague, Czech Republic

Higher Education Improvement Project

Component 2: Improving Research in STEM and Agriculture

HEIP-ITC-SGA#07 entitled “Development of a Virtual Cambodian Power System-Towards an Innovation Micro-Grid in Cambodia” is a sub-research project in Component 2: Improving Research in STEM and Agriculture, Higher Education Improvement Project (Credit No. 6221-KH) granted by the Royal Government of Cambodia. HEIP-ITC-SGA#07 aims to develop power system planning and operation tools and a smart grid testbed at ITC.

The International Conference of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Technologies (ICECET’22) was held at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Prague, Czech Republic, July 20-22, 2022. The ICECET’22 is a peer-reviewed international conference that provides a forum for the exchange of the latest technical information, the dissemination of the high-quality research result, the presentation of the new developments in the area, the discussion, and shaping of future directions and priorities. At the conference, 425 papers from 84 different countries were presented and will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Explore.

During the conference, Dr. Vai Vannak presented his research findings co-authored by Ms. Eng Samphors and Mr. Chhlonh Chhith with the paper entitled “Development of LVAC Distribution Network Topologies with PV System Integration for an Urban Area: A Case Study of Cambodia.” This research paper aims to develop the planning tool for LVAC distribution network topologies with PV integration under the load profile uncertainty considering the minimum power loss, balanced load, and cost of energy using the shortest path algorithm (SPA), repeated phase ABC algorithm (RPABC), genetic algorithm (GA), and hybrid optimization software with different electricity tariff options in Cambodia. The sub-research project (HEIP-ITC-SGA#07) was also introduced to all participants in the parallel session of the conference. Moreover, the expertise of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia, and the University of Pannonia, Veszprem, Hungary, triggered the most effective methods of the sub-research project on computational intelligence (CI) in electrical engineering and direction optimization in electrical energy systems, respectively, as well as the other researchers.

The objectives of research dissemination are to:

  • Present and publish the research findings as a peer-reviewed paper in the IEEE database
  • Build networks with academics and experts around the world
  • Share thoughts on recent advances and technological breakthroughs.
